On his Instagram yesterday, chair of the Cumbria Future Leaders steering group Thomas Shaw shared some thoughts on Mental Health Awareness.
“Today is the start of #mentalhealthawarenessweek. Mental health is something that I’ve spent a long time trying to understand and identify, learning what keeps me going, and makes me happy inside”
“This is just one of my happy places. Out in the Lake District on my bike, with or without company. May I gently implore everyone to take just a little time away for yourself (I understand that lockdown may make this slightly harder) to try to gain that self-inner peace.”
“Try and briefly forget the stress of everyday life and the plight that we all now find ourselves in. Things can only get better if you know that things are low. Finally, always be careful when speaking to others because words and negative comments can hurt.”
