Complete our Cumbria young people survey!

We would like to hear from you…. Cumbria, along with the rest of the world is facing some significant challenges from health, wellbeing, social, education and economic perspectives. It is vitally important that the voice of young people is heard at this time, so plans for the future can reflect the needs of 16-24 year olds. The Centre for Leadership Performance are working with Cumbria LEP, Inspira and other training and education providers to gather information and input from you and your peers so we can understand 1. how this crisis is impacting on you 2. how we can help you deal with the challenges you are facing The information we gather will be used to understand the current situation from your perspective and to help shape plans, programmes and activities that will support you in the months to come. Individual replies will not be identified (it is completely anonymous) and we will be looking at collated data that can help inform decisions about our activities to support 16-24 year olds.

Cumbria Future Leaders Steering committeeIn January young people at different stages of their leadership journey(school, sixth form, university and in-work) came together as the steering group for Cumbria Future Leaders, to agree terms of reference and help shape how this ground-breaking initiative will create and co-ordinate leadership opportunities for young people aged 16-25.  They include representatives from Dream Placement Alumni, Allerdale Youth Council, Sellafield Ltd Next Generation Executive,  BECBC Shadow Board, LEP Futures Forum, Cumbria Care Leaders Forum, and the Nuclear Industry Young Generation Network.

Rebecca Weston Chief Operating Officer at Sellafield Ltd and a CfLP board director also supported the event.

“Great to see the diversity of groups of young people including a number of Dream Placement alumni coming together to share opportunities and to make the future better for others. I am excited to see what Cumbria Future Leaders can achieve. Their success is our success, and their future is our future.”

We want Cumbria Future Leaders to become a force for good in Cumbria, harnessing the enthusiasm and commitment of young people, creating opportunities for their development and leadership,  and enabling contact and conversations with each other, with business and with the organisations that shape the county and its future.

We look forward to taking plans for Cumbria Future Leaders forward throughout 2020 with you.
