You can help to support Cumbria’s Young People

The Centre for Leadership Performance, Cumbria Careers Hub, Inspira, Hello Future, and Learn Live are working together to support our young people aged 14-18 who may be feeling unsure about their future as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.

We want to help young people to think positively about the future, and the ‘Learn Live’ virtual job fair event on July 7th is designed to help them think through their options.

We are looking for young people able to contribute with short personal videos.

If you are in school, college or university talk about how lockdown and Covid-19 has affected you, and how it has impacted on your aspirations and ambitions for a career.

If you are in work perhaps talk about how your job or your future prospects and plans have changed, or talk about what your vision of the future could or should be.

If you are part of the Cumbria Future Leaders programme or have taken part in  Dream Placement, please talk about how that benefited has you, and what more you would like to see.

  • The videos should ideally be no longer than 2 minutes, but they can be shorter.
  • You may submit more than one video, to deal with different topics.
  • The visual film and sound should be as clear as possible.
  • Begin by stating your name, age and current situation – in school, at university, employment etc.
  • You may state your hometown, but no further address detail.

This is your platform, and your chance to talk to the employers, education professionals, and other young people who are collaborating with us to create the event, and who will be visiting the site and taking part in the programme of activities on July 7th.

Your videos will be used as part of the Learn Live event and may also be used as part of the wider engagement with young people and employers in Cumbria through virtual internet-based activity and social media.

By submitting a video you agree to it being used by the Centre for Leadership Performance, Cumbria Future Leaders and its Learn Live partners, and published on the internet and on social media platforms to promote and facilitate engagement between young people and employers, and the development and implementation of careers and education strategies to benefit young people in Cumbria.

Please send your video’s to by 1st July 2020.
