AppFit: Gain Skills for Apprenticeship Applications

Information on AppFit taking place on January 11th 2020 – 9 to 12.30 at Energus

There are many young people in our community that would make fantastic apprentices but lack the administrative skills to pass the application process. AppFit will give you guidance, skills and knowledge on the three main application process elements:

Application Form

Aptitude Test

Too often businesses take on young people into apprenticeships for which they are overqualified which results in them completing the scheme and moving out of that area or discipline because they realise they are under-employed; this leaves a gap in the business. If businesses recruit the right people into the right apprenticeships they not only give those people a job, they effectively meet the original business need.

Appfit was created to make employing the right apprentices possible by getting those people to the standard required to get through the door – levelling the playing field.

As well as the structured support on the application process AppFit is also an opportunity for businesses to showcase what they offer young people in Cumbria whether that is Apprenticeships, Internships or Work Experience. AppFit is for ALL apprenticeships in EVERY sector of the county.

Business in attenence to include: Balfour Beatty, BECBC, Carlisle College, Centre for Leadership Performance, Copeland Council, Energus, Enigma, Gen 2, HOLLR, Inspira, Kaefer, KBR, Lakes College, Orano, Rosehill Theatre, Sellafield Ltd, Wood Nuclear, WYG.. with more to be confirmed!
